Is It Time?
It is time!! Suddenly it has dawned on me! It is time, time to seriously think about my personal obligation to Vision Continues as it relates to the new plan for refurbishment and expansion.
How really important is my church to me, and to other members of my church family and, even the community at large?
Actually, the more we think about it, the more you become aware of what it means to all of us. Then again, how necessary is it to spend so much money to refurbish, renovate and expand the church?
In fact we refurbish, renovate and expand almost everything else that is important to us. Why not the church? When our family grows, we purchase transportation to accommodate. Some times we add a room or even buy a larger house to accommodate our family needs. We replace our roofs and install locks and alarms and make our homes safer. We paint and redo to make our home more comfortable and welcome, so why not our church home?
We can say, “Not all of us can afford it.”, “not renovating or refurbishing!” Sometimes we say no to even our transportation, our homes, or even our health, but some how we manage, as the need arises. Right?
Obviously the need has arisen as we discovered in the recent two year study that began with ideas for refurbishing and ended with renovation and expanding areas that were feeling the pains of growing, as well as meeting the needs of a growing church family. As we have grown in knowledge of how better to care for our children, so have the demands for better facilities. Even society has affected our needs for safety, and automation, improved technology, etc. Accommodations for the needs of the young, old and the handicapped, will make our church more accessible and user friendly.
Making a decision soon is important. How much can I give? How much can I pledge?
Not as much as others, but maybe more than some. The important thing is that we all give what we can.
How much can you give?
