CHEDDAR CHEESE SPREAD For Printable Copy, click here
4 c. sharp cheddar cheese-grated
8 oz. Kraft “Chive and Onion” cream cheese-softened
Or 8 oz. cream cheese and 2 T. finely chopped onion
4 T. butter-softened
1 t. Worcheshire sauce
½ t. garlic salt
½ c. mayonnaise
2-4 T. milk-enough to make a good spreading consistency
Combine cream cheese, butter, Worcheshire sauce, garlic salt and mayonnaise with wire whisk. Add enough milk to make a thick sauce. Mix in grated cheese with spoon. Spread on thick sliced bread and toast at 400 degrees until hot and bubbly.
This spread will keep well in refrigerator for 1-2 weeks. To use-heat amount you want to spread in the microwave for a few seconds to warm it to spreading consistency. |
