Aldersgate United Methodist Church

Endowment Fund

The Aldersgate United Methodist Church Endowment Fund and the things that can be made possible through it are limited only by the imagination of our donors. This lists some events, presentations, and speakers that have been funded through the Aldersgate Endowment Fund. The EF will bring more speakers, musical performances and many other opportunities to be the body of Christ in our Community in the future. Individuals may designate that the returns on their donations to the Fund be used only for a particular purpose for which they feel strongly committed.

What is the Aldersgate UMC Endowment Fund?

The Aldersgate United Methodist Church Endowment Fund (EF) is established for the purpose of providing members and friends the opportunity to make charitable gifts to our church that will become a permanent endowment of financial support and a living memorial.

The EF is intended to enable the church to further implement its mission statement of being “a caring and affirming Christ-centered fellowship, lay-led and community focused.” It is not for programs that are traditionally funded through the annual operating budget of the church.

The EF offers a lasting legacy for the Aldersgate body of Christ. Our gifts affirm our belief in the future of the our church.

When Should I Give? Many people think in terms of giving from their estates as a last act of stewardship to the church. But any gifts made during our lifetime will support the EF and its purposes. Gifts may be made in memory of a friend or loved one. Gifts might be made to celebrate special occasions such as birth, baptism, wedding or anniversary. Whenever , a donation to the EF will be a lasting gift.

What Can I Give? Gifts of cash can be given to the EF. Other gifts such as real estate, securities, or other property are all appropriate gifts. One can designate the Endowment Fund the beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Another simple method of donation is to leave a clause in your will stating that you would like to leave a certain amount or percentage of your estate to the EF. There are many ways in which a gift may be made to the EF. The method of giving should be personal.

The Aldersgate United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, hereafter referred to in this document as the "Endowment Fund", is established for the purpose of providing members and friends the opportunity to make charitable gifts to Aldersgate United Methodist Church that will become a permanent endowment of financial support and a living memorial. The Endowment Fund is intended primarily for purposes that will enable the church to further implement its mission statement of being "a caring and affirming Christ-centered fellowship, lay-led and community oriented ". It should be used for purposes that are not a part of the church’s established programs that are traditionally funded through the annual operating budget of the church and the regular giving of its members. The Endowment Fund provides a way for members to continue their annual giving in perpetuity. The Endowment Fund replaces and represents a revision of the Aldersgate Fund.
